‘My God, I Wish That Man Would See’ (A Poem)

It’s near midnight and I’m slumped exhausted on my couch. I’d planned to sleep hours ago, but instead, I find myself thinking about my day. I think about the last few months of my life – a rollercoaster. And, suddenly, I find myself at my desk, heart poured out on the page:

‘My God, I Wish That Man Would See’ (A Poem)

My God, I wish that man would see –
Just how good you are to me

My heart and soul – you deserve no less
For you loved me in my wretchedness

So though ‘morrow’s fate I do not know,
Today I don’t have to walk alone

Through depth of darkness,
Death’s deceit,
No one can take my joy from me!
