About Me

Since I became a Christian 6 years ago in early 2010, my life has been radically different.

This blog is a series of short stories from my life to explore my spirituality as a young man in Australia, a Christian medical student doctor, a musician, and as a husband.

I testify that everything I write on this blog are completely true stories.

Australian Christian Medical Student Blog

He has showed you, O man, what is good.

And what does the LORD require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
(Micah 6:8)

“The glory of God is man fully alive.”

– Saint Irenaeus (185 AD)

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

– Jesus Christ

Just before I started studying medicine 3 years ago, I discovered The Good News (aka the Gospel).

What is The Good News?

The Good News that Jesus came to tell the world about can be summarised by his statement to you and I and the world – I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Why did I come to listen to the Good News?

I discovered The Good News when my life hit an absolute lowest point of personal suffering 3 years ago. At the time, I had never known such anguish before.

I was in the depths of despair. I was desperate. I turned to human beings, but they admitted they could not fix my life problems. I turned everywhere, but could find no solutions.

This left me in a broken place.

For the first time in my life, I was utterly powerless.

For the first time in my life, I was utterly without hope for the future.

For the first time in my life, I came to a point where I had nothing to lose.

So for the first time in my life, I seriously cried out to God – if you are real God, show yourself to me! If you are real, I need your help! Show me if you really are a good God!

And God spoke back to my heart.

In that moment, something changed inside me forever.

In that moment, I made the most important discovery of my life – that God is actually real. That he actually speaks. That he actually wants to talk to me. That I can actually hear him. That he has come to give life, and that the glory of God comes in a man that is fully alive – Jesus Christ, the Son of God. There has never been a man more alive. And that man, in turn, offers life to all who want it, that the glory of God may be revealed in them living life to the fullest.

These truths are all part of the Good News!

And the crazy part – he gave it to me for free. I did nothing to earn it and had lived a care-free life of wild living. I had lived my life like he didn’t exist and all that mattered was whatever I deemed to be the purposes of life.

But in spite of my wild living and rejection of him, God demonstrated his love for me, that whilst I was still a sinner, Christ died for me (Romans 5:8).

From that moment of discovery, my life has never been the same.

Now friends, what God has said to me, he also says to you this very day:

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
(Revelation 3:20)

For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
(Matthew 7:8)

Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
hear me, that your soul may live.
(Isaiah 55:1-3)

Friends, come with me in pursuing life to the fullest.

  3. Hi,
    I just want to say thank you for posting your 75 verses that got you through your med exams! They are helping me now as I go through my last year and a half of masters in teaching. I have struggled previously with a fear of failure. I am much better this year around and do not suffer that much from anxiety. But I have suffered from doubt and insecurity.
    But God is so good and constantly reminds me to draw close to Him. And He reminded me of your website which I have marked as one of my favourites on my mobile.

    Thank you once again. Your favourite verses are helping me.
    God bless you with a continual understanding and experience of God’s love in Jesus! Amen! 😀

  4. So I take the MCAT for the first time on Friday & my friend msg me this link to your blog…at first I wasn’t sure what to expect because prior to this I was feeling very anxious & scared for what’s ahead and I just discovered that the way my name is spelled on the MCAT registration is different from the way it’s spelled on my ID (w/ & w/o a hyphen) so here I am freaking out and in totally despair but….after reading through part of your blog I have hope that God doesn’t bring us this far to leave us…& as terrible as I’m feeling now, I know that that will change. So thank you

  5. Hi there! I just wanted to share with you that I came across your blog while searching for scriptures to get me through Nursing school, and your 75 verses has been such a blessing that I share with others in Nursing school as well. I love your testimony for I can relate to being radically saved in 2013 after a point of the deepest anguish and desperation I was faced with as well! The Lord is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am excited to see where He leads me for His Name sake and glory with Nursing Midwifery and every other area of my life. Blessings!

  6. Awesome blog man ! I praise God for what He did in your life and how He has brought you to a place where you can freely and in such a creative way tell others about Christ.
